Default ***question on mounting aftermarket shocks.

I noticed that when people post that they have installed aftermarket shocks, they use the stock rubber mounting bushing for the top of the shocks. I used the Bilstein bushings on my car when I installed my sports. Is there some advantage to use the stock rubber bushings over the ones that come with the shocks???

Thanks

Robert

I not looking for HP numbers.. :D I just wanted to know if the stock one's last longer or something. Just seems most if not all reuse the stock ones.

I used the new ones that came with the Bilsteins shocks. As a matter of fact you're the first one that i know of that has even suggested using the old ones. If there is a BIG group of people that's been doing this then i guess i must have missed those threads covering it.

I don't get it. Why would someone use the old parts if it came with new ones? I only ask since I ordered my Bilstien Sports today and would like to know before I install them.

I used the ones that came with the bilstein shocks. If I remember right, it was suggested to use the old bushings because they don't squeak. I haven't heard a noise from mine yet. I put about 1k miles on them.

Hey Now:
I had my Bilsteins installed about a year ago. I did use the new bushings and no problems with squeaks or noise. :yesnod:
