Just took my 99 vert on a 300 mile road trip. Car ran perfectly as it always has. Washed car when I got back. Started car without problem after washing, drove it into garage and turned it off. My key fob wouldn't work to lock the car. I tried my other fob...no good either. Tried to start car. Nothing. Waited and tried other key. Nothing. Battery is not dead...headlights flip up and are bright. Security light is flashing and temp control ***** remain illuminated. Interior lights don't work. Auto door lock button works. Any idea what the problem is? Thanks very much for any help you can provide

Immediately check in the passenger footwell ... sounds like water may have drained into the area where the BCM and I/P fuse block are located.
If the area is wet .... disconnect battery (remove negative cable) and immediately start drying the area ..... swipe your wife's hair dryer, that will help dry the wiring and carpeting. If there is a lot of water in the area, you may have to remove the BCM, open it, and dry the electronics inside the BCM.
Kudos and big thanks Black Z06 who was right on the money. I am always amazed by how many great folks, like Black Z06, there are on this forum who will offer their expertise to help those who, like me, are "technically challenged".
