cats do effect the sound....if your worried about passing inspections...you car just drill the cats...that way they are on the car but do not function and from what i hear is the same sounds as if you had none....

I did put random cats on to pass Md. inspection and it sounded like ****. plus when u decellerated u would sometimes backfire which really is upsetting. Now i am back to NO cats.Also the last 2 emmissions test,, they gave me a waiver, no questions asked because i told them i could not go over there ramps cause my vette sits so low it would do a lot of damage.. This is in Md. Just telling u what i have esperienced. Good Luck!!
