The x-pipe will be quieter than the H-pipe and will help eliminate the motor boat sound and poping noise in the exhaust. If you prefer those sounds, leave it alone.
What are the advantages to the x-pipe and the H-pipe?
Is there an advantage to having one or both? Will
When I had my X-pipe installed I had them leave the H-pipe in (downstream of the X-pipe) to ensure exhaust tip alignment. Performance-wise, sound-wise, or whatever, once the X-pipe is in, the H-pipe does absolutely nothing because the pulses are now equalized pipe-to-pipe. I have an A&A mod and the X-pipe smoothed the tone, the exhaust still "snaps" just right, and sounds great at WOT. Also, no resonance. It worked for me. By the way, I have friends who did the same when they had their X-pipes installed.
I agree w/ those above. Once the pressure is equalized on both sides (by the larger x pipe), there will be no flow through the smaller OEM H pipe. If you can leave in the H pipe, it will help keep the tips aligned.
