After a week and a half of phone calls and waiting for insurance adjusters (due to me thinking the word ''corvette'' in the back of the car actually read ''submarine'') (http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...982&highlight= )
I now have a check for $8000 to replace the motor.
I want to keep the car NA.
Ive been looking at 402/408 built strokers.
any other suggestions or engine builders for a replacement? my goal is 500 or more rwhp.
(the blown engine had TSP stage 2.5 ported 5.3L heads and a MS3 cam)
Do yourself a favor before you take the jump,,you might save some money as well!! Get the October 08 issue of Car Craft (should be out or out soon I got mine in the mail a week or so ago) They have as part of their cover stories a good spread on Gen III stroker motors!! Covers all the stock bore and strokes and what you can do with them. They cover many combos ,manufactures, pros and cons and reference different builders. They list sources for parts, kits long blocks and bare blocks. Very interesting reading!!
