B1001 - Option Configuration Error
The SIR ID or the VIN in the BCM does not match the ID's in the SDM
If the BCM or the PCM have been replaced, they need to be re-programed with the correct ID's...
Or there is a data link or connection problem between the BCM/SDM/SIR components.
SIR - Air Bags
SDM - Sensing Diagnostic Module
BCM - Body Control Module

My PCM was recently replaced after a leaking battery ate it. I guess the dealer failed to reprogram. What kind of problems can this cause? Thanks for the info, it is appreciated! :yesnod: :lol:

If you're AIR BAG light is lit (and my guess it's what started this), the Air Bag system is disabled. For safety's sake, I'd get it fixed as soon as practical, but other than that, operation and performance are not affected.

No, I don't think the airbag light is on. I'll check tomorrow. I have had gas guage problems in the last several days. That's why I pulled the codes. I have a 10-PCM P1431H that's related to that problem.

When you pulled the codes, was there an "H" or "C" after the number. If there was an "H", there is a possiblility that the code was set by the tech. He could have corrected it but not cleared it.
