Has anybody successfully removed their M6 tranny without removing the torque tube, tunnel plate, headers, exhaust, etc.? I understand you have to drop the rear cradle but can you lower the diff/tranny enough to disconnect it without removing the tunnel plate?
I think at the very least, you're going to have to remove the exhaust and tunnel plate and drop the rear cradle to be able to access some things. Not sure how the shift linkage disconnects and that might be what keeps you from being able to leave the TT in place.
You're going to have to drop the exhaust and tunnel plate in addition to the rear cradle to be able to tilt the tt enough to slide the diff and tranny off. Someone here just did this recently. You also need to disconnect the intake from the TB and watch that you don't tilt the tt/motor too much so as to avoid punching the back of the motor through the firewall.
Here's the sticker on the tt warning you of the tilt angle.

Thanks Patches. That's what I was afraid of. The reason I asked was that in order to remove the tunnel plate, I have to unbolt my LG headers. I've replaced my clutch before so I know how to do it all, just squeezed for time right now.
Cheers,
John
