I tried adding freon to the A/c system and the freon actually leaked out of both schrader valves. I tried pushing on the valves a couple of times to try to reseat them, seemed to help but I dont think it worked. Are there O-rings that can be replaced inside the valve?
Those valves have the same type as valve stems on your tires....You'll need to recover your freaon (empty) and take out the valve stems (shrader) valves and replace them...yes they hace o rings but they are very very tiny.
If they are similar to the tire valve stems, then I think the o-ring(s) are actually on the valve itself. Then the 2 shrader valves have to be replaced?
Have you tried tightening them? Same tool as for tire valve stems will work. The schrader valves screw in just like on a tire. Tightening can fix the leak sometimes, and is way cheaper than evacuating the system to change a .50 cent part.
Worth a try.
