Thanks. I'll have to lift her and look again. I didn't see it the first time so I started digging in the engine bay and around the tank and went back to the frame area. I guess I missed it twice.:o
If any one has any pics I would be greatly appreciated.
Just so I'll be straight on the understanding, that location is for all C5's, and that left side is driver side? Thanks.
NO!!!!
The location described above is for 1997 and 1998 models only. 1999 and newer have filter IN the fuel pump assembly.
The left side IS the driver's side.

I have a 2002 Vert and the fuel filter is not in the tank. it is a separate item with a fuel regulator built into it. Mounted under the car somewhere.

...one more little tidbit: If you're gonna replace it, put the
car on a lift. It's a real easy job with a lift.... a real difficult one without a lift.

Using the lift the second time I changed a fuel filter made the job much easier and quicker.

That somewhere is the same place as the others. It is on the inside frame rail just around the corner from the drivers side tank in the tunnel near the transmission. 10mm bolt holds the clamp and the clips will collapse and release the lines with your fingers. Be sure and relieve pressure at the rail, wear goggles and put your cigarette out when doing this job.

Jay,
The filter can be in 2 different places on a C5 ..... 1997 into early 2003 Model Year the filter is in the rear on the left frame rail. Even within this range, early cars (1997 and 1998) it is the filter only while later cars the filter and pressure regulator are integrated. Starting in 2003, if the car has RPO FFS, then the filter has been moved inside the tank.
And .... NO ..... the left side is not neccesarily the driver's side ....
This is one of several companies that convert Corvettes (and other vehicles) to Right Hand Drive (RHD) configuration. There are several members of this forum who have RHD vehicles in places like the UK (DeeGee) and Australia.

I'm the guy with the high mileage '99 that I recently gave away to my son. I changed the fuel filter on it several times over the years and I can verify that it was not in the tank, rather where others have noted it being on the driver's side adjacent to the tranny.

Not true sir. That location is correct for 1997-2002 for sure. What's really goofy about your comment, is that your sig says you have a 1999, and you don't even know what's on your own car, yet you give the wrong advice to someone else with such conviction..
