HUD conversion ??
Is the 11 pin harness from the HUD control panel the same as the ones on the sides of the instrument cluster or the information switch? Can they be used interchangeably? They look very similar.

No they are not.
If you currently have the standard dimmer switch (without any of the hud functions) then your current harness has the same plugs but fewer wires. You'll need the hud harness if you are going to install the hud switch.
