I'm flushing out my cooling system (2003 vert). The drain plug is a wierd design. Every one i've come across has a wing type plug and it is easily turned by hand to drain. This one is circulor in shape am I missing something real simple? It is a white plastic..Any one else come across this? Thanks
I think I used an alan wrench on mine to turn it.
I believe it loosened to the left by 90 degrees and then you cold just pull it out.
It takes a while for it to drain. Be sure to open the resevoir cap to help release the pressure and have it drain faster.
Also, if you really want to get it all out, take off the upper radiator hose and the thermostat. Then spray a hose in the hole where the hoses and thermostat entered the engine just to really wash everything out. You can do this to the radiator too.
Then button it all back up and refill with Dexcool and distilled water.
