*************How to improve Throttle Response***************
I have a stock 99 and the Throttle Response really sucks. I have a predator and mass flow, but what is the key (within reasonable $$) to fixing the issue? Thanks
HEY GUYS, I AM NOT LOOKING TO OVERHAUL OR MAKE MASSIVE MOD'S. I JUST NOTICED THAT MY RESPONSE SEEMED SLOW WHEN I MASHED THE PEDDLE TO THE METAL. ACTUALLY, I CHECKED WITH MY BUDDY AT THE GM DEALERSHIP & HE SUGGESTED TO USE SOME THROTTLE BODY SPRAY CLEANER & CLEAN THE INSIDE AREA OF THE THROTTLE BODY TO INCLUDE THE INSIDE OF THE BUTTERFLY. HE SAID TO USE A TOOTH BRUSH WITH THE SPRAY AS NEEDED TO CLEAN HER OUT GOOD. WELL, IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM--AND HE EVEN GAVE ME A CAN OF CLEANER---RUNS LIKE A NEW CAR!
THANKS FOR THE RESPONSES AND IF I EVER DECIDE TO GO TO THE TRACK, I WILL CONSIDER SOME OF THE REPLIES.

It never was a problem when I was stock, but the biggest key for throttle response since I added headers was making sure the o2 sensors are getting the correct reading (probably the maf too). If you have an aftermarket MAF, get rid of it.
Ported TB will give SOTP feel but not sure it will give more ponies, but u can feel it. I installed on my pretty much stock Z and i felt the response immediete.
Buy a LS6 intake off here or that auction site, have the intake ported and the throttle body ported and polished. You will feel a big difference in throttle response. You should be able to get it done for around $1000 including the tune, which you will need.
