I've been struggling with a sticky pedal and yesterday started the Ranger method of fluid renewal. I've cycled the fluid probably 10 times and still have the pedal stuck halfway down with engagement beginning at almost floor level... is it time to break out the air tools?
Also, when the new fluid is added, there is what appears to be a small vortex of cloudy fluid that forms on the center of the cylinder. Is this normal or is something leaking down? There are no apparent leaks in the system.
The pedal operation is better than when I started the procedure, but still not correct.
i just went through this with my car. i had a cam swap and header install that gave me a nice bump in power and the sticking pedal started right after that. i changed the fluid till it was a clear as i could get it. it did not help much at all. normal driving was fine untill i went to the floor and shifted from 1st to 2nd then it would stick going to 3rd. i have read where this has been so much of a problem that i just gave in and had a new clutch installed. i had the entire system replaced and upgraded to a textralia z grip and had a remote bleeder hose installed also. the stock clutch turned out to be worn out. i will be keeping the fluid changed on a very regular basis now that bleeding will be so much easier. there are several other things you can try such as the drill method and replacing the master. anything past that and you might as well replace the clutch.
Yeah, I think the long term fix is gonna involve a bunch of new parts. I did flush the m/c 2 more times and drove the car for about 40 minutes with no sticking, but I didn't think the pedal felt quite right.
I had the same problem after my cam install. I ran around full bolt-ons with no problems with the clutch at all for about 2 years, the day after the cam install, I got the sticky pedal. The only fix is a clutch that can withstand your power levels. When I removed my clutch, you could see the obvious hot spots on the flywheel/pressure plate where it had been slipping, but the disc showed almost no wear. Before doing all that work, I flushed and flushed till I felt Motul should start sending me thank you cards. The only fix was replacing the clutch/slave cylinder.

Thanks for the input...
Hi dadeuce454 -
Probably needed to flush it more - do it 8 times, pumping the pedal 15-20 times between each change -
