I have a bone stock 01 A4 3.15. My goal with the car is to run consistant 10 second 1/4. Can i run 10's with just a supercharger, gears, & converter? Or should i go with heads & cam? If i do go with a cam i dont want a lot of lope. I still want a street car. Any help would be appreciated.
I think you will have to go with a H/C pkg. and the supercharger to get consistent tens. I run a 228/232 Comp cam with the rest of the mods in the sig. As soon as I get around to beefing up the tranny, the car is going to be retuned for a few more ponies.
Why not consider twin turbos? My buddies have two C5's, one a 97 and the other a 2000 that have stock bottom ends, LS1 heads, one has an oem GM cam the other a bit larger Comp unit and both ran 9.9x @ 13x mph this past weekend. They drive the cars to and from the track, change air pressure and run the cars like that.
A properly installed and tuned supercharger, with a matched converter and gears, along with the necessary strengthening of drive train components to handle sticky tires and it can run 10's all day long: thumbs

A supercharger package from any of the tuners on the forum will get you into the tens, consistently. Of course I am bias toward ECS (609 752-0321), because of their customer service, and product. It works, and leaves room for furthur enhancements. Because you will want more, its very addictive...
A&A also has an excellent reputation, and they some excellent performing, reliable cars out there as well.
With a properly tuned supercharger setup, with gears and converter, and sooner or later , trans and other drivetrain mods, you can have a 10 sec 25 MPG animal!!!
