Is a money a significant factor? Try Michelin PS2's. Even a Toyo dealer told me that he felt Michelin was the way to go on a Z06 unless I only used the car for highway cruising. He told me he felt the PS2 was even quieter and rode better. I have them and they perform great, even i rain.
I'm not spending more than $1000 for tires. The Toyo Proxes come to like $800 and get good reviews. It's not a track car, it's a daily driver so I'm not even remotely possibly considering dropping 300-350+ per tire. Not a chance in hell.
I also went for the Toyo Proxes T1r's, and love'em, now at least after realizing the people who put them on were stupid and overinflated them. Now, they are quiet, sticky-enough for a daily-driver, and not hard like the GY runcraps they replaced. Don't know about longevity, but, hope they will be decent. They were recomended by a friend with a Z-28 that is sortof over-aggresive on his driving style and he loves them. I had to put my 2cents in, thanks. Just keep them at 30lbs.
Go check the General UHP tires. I just drive my car on the street (save the fun times for the track/autocross ), and have been very pleased with them. Got mine at Discount Tires, Tire Rack has them for:
Why not go for the FK 452 in the 295 width on the back?
I would suggest going for the Kumho MX tire, but discount tire only special orders them in my area now. Not sure if that means a new tire from Kumho in the near future or not.

I figured that they weren't exact (I run stock C5 sizes on the street), but you don't have to run the exact sizes. I think Z06s take 295s on the rear, but 10mm narrower isn't much.
There are plenty of <$1000 options out there; I was just showing one of them.
You can comfortably go +/- 10 mm in width. Use the specs page on the Tirerack website to try to match up the tire diameter with the tires you're currently running.
Also, if there's a Discount Tire in your area, they'll usually come pretty close to Tire Rack prices, once you include mounting, road hazard, etc. into the TR price. Usually a bit more $$, but I'm fine with that since I'm supporting a local business.
well the + on the rear doesn't work too well. I wasn't really able to find any reasonable street tires until I hit 315 and then the fronts didn't match.
Goodyear GSD3's are highly rated and come in at ~ $1000 for 4. Note that you can't get the fronts in the stock size, you have to get 275's, that is what I plan on doing in the next couple of days or so.

Goodluck with that, GSD3s for the rear are nationally out of stock, with no production planned !
Doesn't your car sit a decent bit higher though in the front? Doesn't matter anyhow because they are backordered in both the 265 and 275 sizes for the front.
Hey just put 295/35/r18 firestone wideovals on the back of my c5.. And holy crap... My clutch hates them lol... But the z has a better clutch... They dont roar like the goodyears and they are wider. And they are freaks in wet weather(they hook just as good).. They should be in ur price range
