Default Predator hand held tuner

Maybe somebody can explain this. Today, I took my 2000 m6 Coupe through New Jersey State inspection. I first removed the predator tune and put the stock tune back in place. Now, I have been driving the vette for the last few weeks due to the gas prices. The vette is 100 % better on gas then my truck.

Anyway, for the ride to the inspection station the Vette ran GREAT...much much better then with the predator tune. Very snappy, I was really shocked. Now with the Predator tune it seems like I really have to get on it to feel any power..almost like there is no torque. With out the tune..it's just bad a**. It's like I have a different car. Could there be something wrong with the tuner?

She failed inspection anyway. Print out said the OBD II system was not ready. No check engine lights nothing. I thought maybe it was because I gave the women driving my vette in some crap...because she kept stalling it out. Took her about 15 attempts before she got it in the door. Any ideas would be appreciated. My only mods are the Varram, 4.10 gears, ported throttle body and Z06 front pipe (two converters, I had 4) and Z06 cat back.

Thanks, Bill

first-why in hell would you let a woman drive your car???? and after the second stall she should be out of the driver's seat in the hurry. It's easier to got a new woman than nice corvette with some mods....lol
How long did you drive after switchin to stock tue before you get to the inspection place? You usually need something like 50-70 miles before the inspection can be done....

you nee at least 50 for the comp to register-it's to prevent people from erasing the codes and going for inspection...

That would explain it. I don't think I'm going to put the predator back in..car is running much stronger with out it. Thanks for the help

Nothing, I have the 6 Speed. Once I took the tune out it really was amazing how much better the Vette ran. Even the idle was different. It idled a little rough with the Predator..smoothed right out after I pulled the tune.

I've never heard of that before. Is that really true?
Flashed one of my cars the other day before going through NJ inspection, didn't have an issue. Didn't think I drove over 50miles before the inspection.

Just curious.

There is no way I would let anybody stall my car out like that. I would have been outraged and talking to the manager or someone there that knows how to drive a car. It sounds like to me that they have no idea what they are doing at that inspection station. Take it somewhere else.

Bill

I got a predator in 2 weeks ago and like it!!!
But mine is A4-so I adjusted shift points and shift pressure as well as rpms. Also, since I have vararam I was running VERY lean and got live data thru predator and adjusted my injectors slope by approx. 7 points-big difference.
Lets say I couldn't smoke the tires before but now it does in in first and even going to the second gear!!! Plus a little "jerk" at shifting (adjustable) is cool too. Also set my torque management off for the shifting....
