My 01 did that for a while and I got a lot of suggestions about it. None seemed to work, finally one morning it wouldn't start. Dead Battery. New battery and dimming problem disappeared.
Hi,
I agree with dgrant, lights dimming under increased draw is a sure sign that either your connections are dirty or loose, or your battery is getting weak and will soon leave you stranded. A car with good connections and a proper charging system and a strong battery will not show a dimming of lights when more load is applied.
Good Luck
I had the same problem and it turned out to be the battery that had one bad cell. I believe that they have a total of 8. Once one goes bad the rest will follow. These cars have an elaborate electical system and require a good battery. Mine went bad because someone put a small cheap battery in a high dollar car. Do yourself a favor and spring for an optima and call it done. Solved my problems.
it is not the battery, it is a relay or something like that, anytime a load placed on system lights dimm, chevy knows about it but can't seem to fix it according to people who have taken car in...more of annoying, not problem that will cause car to fail...repeat, it is not the battery in 99% of cases
