can changing your tire size cause the check engine light to come on?i just recently went with new wheels from a c6 (stock sizes) and have notice my gas mileage has gone downhill, and now my light has come on.i was reading through my owners manual and it mentioned that changing tire sizes will make my light come on and affect my emissions. if so what do i have to do take it to the dealership and have it reprogrammed?
The tire size is programmed into the PCM. I wouldn't think it would cause the light to come on but this is simple to find out. Pull the codes and post them.
the #1 cause of a check engine light is a loose or faulty gas cap.
Others include problems with the engine running too rich or too lean, a plugged catalytic converter, a bad oxygen sensor or a problem with the evaporative emissions system....
As per the previous post... run your diagnostic codes and post them...
something easy i hope?

This won't cause a "check engine" light, there will be a code after the PCM

It did, lot's of things will set the Check Engine Light that have nothing to do with the engine directly. Had mine set when My Skip Shift eliminator broke.
