Differential noise?

97 C5 with 100k on the clock... The diff or something seems to be making a "whirrrring" noise above 50mph, and it you corner back and forth quick you can hear it more. Sometimes its almost like i can feel it in the steering somehow as well, any thoughts?

Might be a rear wheel bearing rather than the differential.

It almost sounds like "road noise" from the tire, but I know its not. When I corner it becomes louder, especially on right hand turns for some reason...

Hmmm weird, the sound is definitely coming from the rear of the car though! How can i tell if its a bad bearing without removing it? I'm going to change the diff fluid as well to be sure its not low.
