Default Windshield replacemant ?

My windshield really needs replacing it has a few chips and one is starting to " grow' .

My question is has anyone here had a problem with water leaks after replacement?

Thanks,

Mike

None that I'm aware of.

As with most things, the quality of the repair depends on the quality of the people doing it. I would definitely stay with a reputable glass shop for this.

Leaking after the install is a product of the install techniques and quality...

Default Heads-up Display Windshield

If you've got a heads-up display, make sure you get the special windshield for it. I know, I went through this and many on this forum helped me know there is a difference!

Just had mine replaced by Safelite Auto Glass. They did a great job. Before they started work, the guy made sure to let me know they would take "special care of my baby". Great work and great customer service.

Ive done a bunch of post on this one....You want a APTech Glass..and only a APTech Glass..DW1430..it will come up as the non HUD unit BUT its the same as the DW1514..only several hundred dollars cheaper.

Do a search on z06 Windshield...my posts should come up

Here....

Dayum John. You need to stay away from those movie theater parking lots there.

I had mine replaced about 2 months after I bought it, never had an issue to date (around 4 years). I did however have the seal replaced (mucho bucks) because he put a small tear in it removing the old windshield. Insurance paid for all of it so I don't have prices.

I gave up taking my C5 to theaters two years ago after the last vandalism - now I either walk to the theater or take a cab. Even though insurance may pay for damage (less deductible) you can never get things back the way they were originally in most cases - not to mention the down time. In fact I have been without a decent targa top all summer - insurance paid for a new replacement, but I am waiting on a 3rd GM replacement as two have been DOA so far. So to me "insurance" is just a "patch" or a roll of the dice, but better than nothing.

Never had a windshield damaged at a movie theater (but I have seen at least 20 others smashed out here at theaters the past couple years), all mine have been trashed by pickup trucks/dump trucks throwing rocks. Most of the streets here need to be condemned. For some reason here, they now think that spraying tar and then dumping truck-fulls of loose gravel is "paving". Nobody else here seems to complain - they ALL have broken windshields and trashed paint - and they all drive more expensive vehicles than me!
