Lubricate the moving parts in the trunk area, the joints at the lift rods, the locking mechanism, etc. You can also add the trunk popper as noted. Lubrication of the joints helped mine a lot.
Hi, that is a common problem on the vette, it is usually caused by the suction effect when the trunk is released. One trick some use is to open and close the door after the trunk is popped, the air pressure forces it open a bit more. I got the "Trunk Popper", last year, and it never fails to pop the trunk open enough to get your hands under the lid to open it. great invention, GM should have thought of it.

GM included a trunk popper which is an internal spring contained within the latch.
The service manual specifies Lubricating all body door hinges and latches including the rear lift hatch[trunk] at least once a year.
