I have a problem with something around the drive belt area.
When I accelerate I hear an awful squealing sound. I have taken the car to many garages and the problem seems to keep re-occuring within a week! Im sure its something to do with the drive belt and pulleys. I know they have changed the pulleys and the belt but it is really frustrating! It sucks because I have this lovely sounding car with a terrible background noise!!!
Anyone else had a similar problem? Can anyway suggest any topics where people have discussed something similar?
glaze on the pulleys? old trick, put some toothpaste (yep) on the belts and it's enough abrasive to get rid of glaze on the pulleys. don't attempt while the car is running (rpm's are faster than you are)
There are two belts. Did you change the AC Compressor one too? You could remove the belts and spin the various accessories by hand to locate the issue.
