243 vs 799 head casting numbers

243 vs 799 head casting numbers

Can anyone tell me the difference between 243 heads vs 799's. I know that 243's are Zo6 heads, but I was told that 799 castings were the exact same heads. Any truth? Please chime in.

That's true. They changed the casting number when the heads were carried over to other engines, but the 799 and 243 castings are one in the same.
