Default After Installation Problems with Headers

What types of issues has anyone had after installation of long tube headers?

Is increased engine temperature a concern? I have heard of issues with heat causing problems with spark plug wires and/or other engine components. Just trying to understand potential issues with making this modification.

I am looking at installing Kook's headers and x-pipe on my vette. Also, still trying to decide wether to add a K&N filter, Blackwing, or just purchase a Z06 airbox to replace the stock.

Thanks for your comments...

If you are worried about engine compartment heat, have them ceramic coated inside and out, There are a lot of options for plug wire insulators available.

Reuse the metal plug protectors and for added measure get wire boots.

As for the intake...don't get the Z06...if you're on a budget...do the zip tie mod or go with an aftermarket CAI.

I'm running Kooks with GM Perf wires and boots...no issues.

Here's my K&N setup.

I used GMPP wires with Delco Iridium plugs, with metal sheild no problem, except little extra heat which i can bear not a big problem, need tuning after that trust me, I get P0420/p0430 codes all the time, becose of extra air to rear O2 sensor, it will not effect perf but just annoying Check engine light comes ON. Need to be turned off in tune.
