Hello,
Interested in a rear gear change to 4.10's. For the most part on a bolt on car, would i be better off just having the gears changed out for 4.10s, or should i just sell the diff being 3.42's and get a DTE or something diff with 4.10s? What is all involved in a gear swap? I know it takes a lot of special tools so i wont be doing it myself, but i mean as far as removing whatever needs to be removed to send whatever out to get the gears changed. Thanks!

If your looking for the easiest then it's probably to swap out the rear carrier to one with 4:10 gears. DTE is a forum sponsor and they are highly regarded as one of the best at what they do. Lot's of good feedback on their customer support and quality of work.
Changing gears in you current carrier may be the cheaper route to go, as long as you find someone that knows exactly what and how to do it. A mistake here and costs can quickly add up. No fun having to re-do something you thought you were finished with.
Ok sounds good. So maybe getting an upgraded diff from DTE with 4.10s and output shafts is the way to go while selling off the current diff. Then some nice launches at the track would be in order without issues as well!
