Default Check Engine Light Question?

I went out and started my 98 Corvette today after it has been parked for a few days, I usually only get to drive it on the weekends. Anyways I started it and the RPM's went way up and stayed up. On the display the read out said decreased horsepower and then it said service traction system. Both warning lights were on as well. Since the motor was working so hard I turned it off and waited a few minutes. I then restarted it and it ran normal, but the check engine light is on now. I didnt know if anyone had experienced this. Thanks

Sounds like your throttle body blade might have gotten stuck. Take your intake hose off, inspect, clean and reinspect. Make sure it is moving smoothly.

The first thing you must do is check for codes, they will help lead you to where to look.

Here's how:

Thank you that just saved me about 60.00 dollars to have it checked. Thanks again this site really has helped me a lot.
