Default Driver window rattle...with pics

I've read through a bunch of posts about the driver's window rattle issue...where if the window is up you can move the window back and forth about an inch and the door will shut fine whereas if you shut it with the window down it sounds like the door is slamming. Anyways, I pulled off my door panel to check out all the mounting points and the tracks and everything is tight. When I try to move the window back and forth I can see that it's hitting the track closest to the front of the car. This is seen in the lower pic looking from above the door. I put a red box around the track where it's hitting the window...this was with the window half up. I also noticed a small velcro patch on the outside of that pink pulley which obviously doesn't stop the window as it keeps traveling horizontally until it hits the track. It looks like the only slop is where the window mount rides along the metal track. The track doesn't move whereas the window "guide" rocks a little around the track. It's not the screw at the bottom as it's tight. Does this just mean the guide is worn and I need new ones? The 2 guides are boxed in the below pic as well...there is slop on both the front and rear tracks due to these things. Anyone have any opinions here?

Check the stud at the inside bottom of the door. There an adjustment bolt covered by a rubber access cover on the bottom of the door. Feel around under the door. It holds a stud type mechanism that has a rubber grommet over it which is inserted in the bottom foot of the window mechanism. The Rubber grommet will ride up over time and the foot will rattle against the stud. Here's a picture of the foot on the stud taken through the opening at the rear of the door pointing toward the hinge of the door. You can see the back-side of the speaker on the right to give you an idea where this stud mech is located.

If that grommet has moved wouldn't that cause some slop in the vertical black tracks which the window rides on? My tracks are solid...they don't move at all. it's just the window at any height can be moved side to side and looking at the piece that slides along the track it just looks like there's too much clearance between that piece and the track itself. I've heard of people using the window to shut the door instead of grabbing the door which causes something to wear but wasn't sure if this is the right part or not.

Mine was making a hell-of-a-racket and I thought everything was tight. For the life of me I could not figure out where the rattle was coming from. All I can tell you is check the grommet on this stud.

Good luck
