Default Will Ls6 engine accessories fit an LS2?

Sorry for what is likely a repetative question. I could not find what I was looking for through research.

My question is are the engine accessories for the LS6 the same accessories on the LS2? Asking to figure out if I built a new LS2 or LS3 stroker what parts from the LS6 I could use.

Thanks

Also your oil pan too if you want to. I'm using my original LS1 oil pan on my LS2 block.

Don't forget too that you'll also need harness extensions for your knock sensors, as they are located on the sides of the block on the LS2s. You'll also need one for your cam sensor too since it's located on the front of the LS2 engines. Plug and play harness extensions are readily available without any splicing. Needless to say, you have to use the LS2 front engine cover and valley cover too.

BTW, I would recommend going to the metal LS2 style P/S pump pulley as a replacement for the factory LS1 plastic piece. Many times the plastic ones get damaged during removal while trying to access a bolt that's right behind it and inaccessible with the pulley still installed. The plastic version is "solid" (no holes or openings) and the LS2 style has openings between the "spokes" and make it easy to get to the bolt I mentioned above, plus it's very inexpensive too. It's a direct swap with no need to change belt length.
The GM part number is: 12568997

Thank you all as well, I had the same question. Is it also the same with LS7?

Also what about heads? and headers, will high performance heads designed for an LS1 bolt onto an LS2 or 7 or is that a completely different animal.

You do use the front and rear covers from your LS6 on the LS2/LS3 motors. I wouldn't use the oil pan with wings (LS6) although I did. Had I done it over I would have figured out what oil pan without wings works best to give me some more room to work around the headers. My engine builder also used my LS6 oil pan windage tray and oil pickup.
Since I didn't know much about my builder and I don't trust a lot of people, I shipped my parts along with brand new gaskets/seals and I removed the seals from the front/rear engine covers to make sure they installed new ones.

The LS3 waterpump is a better design I wouldn't stick your LS6 waterpump on a new LS2/LS3. You also reuse your MAF sensor and MAP sensors. I wouldn't reuse the oil pressure sensor as those seem to go bad too often. I reused my LS6 starter on my 418ci LS3 block. FYI the LS3 throttle body has a different connector and it does not have provisions for the coolant lines so you have to do the throttle body bypass mod if you haven't done it already. If you have headers do a test fit on the driver side as the knock sensor location can be too close or even touching your header. Many people have had to move their knock sensor on the driver side.

I don't know enough about heads to give you advice on them. I can tell you that L92 heads are a common inexpensive option for LS3 blocks, however many builders still haven't figured out the magic cam to use with L92 heads. It's much better than it was and if you think you might want to do L92 heads read up on ls1tech.com as there are a lot of good posts on cams to use with L92 heads.
