Headlight buckets remain up after installing HID conversion kit
This evening, I tried to get the 6k HID conversion kit installed from DJ Motorsport. After following the instructions, the headlight buckets remain in the up position, and when I pull the key from the ignition, I'm getting dong'd.
I've got a 2001 Z06, and the instructions suggested upgrading the fuses from 10a to 20a. But that didn't cure the problem either.
Anyone have any suggestions? Otherwise, I'll call DJ in the morning.

Turn on your high beams and then turn off lights. The ballast screw up the resistance.
Some CF vendor is selling a fix for this, do a search.
When i did my HID's i noticed that my headlights would stay up when i turned the lights off...but only when the car was off. If i turn the headlights off while the car is still running, they go down like they should. To get them down with the car off, you just need to turn on you highbeams.
The problem is the "new electrical" load that the system now sees. The vehicle monitors the electrical load to determine if a bulb has gone out. If it thinks a bulb is out the lights will not close. The system can be fooled by playing with the high beams at times. I installed a relay harness when I installed my ACA HID's. The coil of the relay on this harness is power by the stock OEM headlight connector. This relay coil presents a load to the system that is similar to the stock headlights and the system operates normally. The power to the HID's now come from the contacts of this relay which connect directly to your battery.

Jeff, you contacted us at 9:15 pm sunday; we replied at 9:47pm sunday and shipped the resistor on monday to you. Just plug it in between the ballast and the car power. You only need to put one resistor on either side. Here's the video for reference.
p.s. You ordered your kit on 8/12 and we were including the resistor at that time. Check your box again..under the plastic tray. If it's there and you end up with two just pay one forward to someone who needs it.

David,
Yeah, I was impressed that you got back to me on a Sunday night
I did discover the resistor under the plastic tray. Didn't have much of a reason to look there
