From what I read over on ls1tech you can cover an F-body with 4 sections and it weighs around 7lbs. I'd imagine I can do my car with less carpet and less weight. But what does the stock carpet and padding weigh? I have heard weight savings numbers range from 20-40lbs.

The rear tub is nothing but a thin sheet of SMC and it will sound like an echo chamber.
To reduce weight. I've heard 20lbs and I've heard 40 lbs. I've heard it will increase the noise level a lot and I've heard that it will not increase that much.

Not sure which model vette you have, coupe or hardtop.
I had a coupe before converting over to a hardtop. I had borla stingers, LPE headers w/stock "H" pipe and a maggie.

These pictures will give you and idea of just how thin it is.
