Default Transgo or Powerloader ?

I'm just getting started with mods on my '00. I was scheduled to get exhaust and Donaldson installed by SLP today but they called and rescheduled for next
week. :( Next I would like to firm up the A4's shifts. I've read alot of positive posts about the Transgo kit but I'm also considering a Powerloader down the road. Does powerloading have any effect on shift firmness, or just shift points ? Will these mods work together ? One more and I'll stop. If I was to go for both, would the Transgo mod factor in to Powerloader programming ? I'm still new here,so I apologize if this has been covered before.

I'll let you know later today. I have the PowerLoader installed and the car is having a Transgo kit installed right now. I get to pick her back up this afternoon. Was told by the installer ahead of time I MIGHT need to get my PowerLoader reprogramed just depends on where the shift points end up?

VStella and Vetteman2K1 both are Power Loaded and installed transgo kits afterwards, without a programming change I believe :)

I just Powerloaded our's 2 weeks ago............. I do not see the need for the Trans kit!!
Nice firm 2nd shifts. Barks 2nd and will get you sideways in a turn.
I have installed plenty of shift kits in TH350 & 700R4 and they were always worth it.:D
IMHO, get Powerloaded then decide :yesnod:
Nothing better than a tuned computer :) .......well 4.10 gears maybe!

Yeah, what Buckmaster said! :yesnod: For those with stock converters the PLII should do the trick for you.The PLII will also lean the A/F ratio and lower the fan setting for you of you like. If it's just a quick shift you want the Transgo WILL do tht for you but only go with 1 spacer for your application or the 1-2 shift mayl give you a neck snap.No kidding this mod WILL give you great shifts but there are settings and you need to be aware of the setting applications.

Good Luck...:D

Thanks to all who responded !!! jeffh 355 please post when install completed.
What is the average people have paid for powerloader ? The Transgo kit looks to cost around $159.00, what should I expect to pay for installation ? Will the dealership install or will this mod affect warranty ? My mechanic at dealership is
excellent, otherwise I would take to trans shop.

One important consideration to keep in mind: The Powerloader programming is reversible. The Transgo kit is not. If you end up not being happy with the results, it's, "Oh well!"
