Surging when cold, is it the Blackwing?
Guys, thanks for the comments. I want to reiterate what I said in my earlier posts. I took off the cold air filter, put the stock box back on to completely stock condition, except that I did NOT put the airbox cover lid on. I used some cable ties to secure the filter element to the bottom part of the airbox AND DID NOT seal up the hole in the radiator shroud. I INSTANTLY had NO surging whatsoever upon driving the car. I do not know why it would do this (without a relearn), unless it was an issue of airflow turbulence, air temp. or something having to do with that. I still get air from through the shroud up into the airbox cavity for it to use. Maybe the bottom part of the airbox seals up the hole good enough to prevent much air from entering from below? All I know is that I was glad to have NO surging at all , but disappointed at noticeably less power.
Steve
