People say to dyno the M6 in a certain gear (4th I think), but what do you do with an A4?
Won't the trans kick-down when you floor it? And if you don't floor it to prevent the kick-down, won't you get lower numbers?
I think I read in the manual that if you start in 2nd from a stop, the trans will start (and stay) in 2nd. Is that the gear to use with an A4?
Guess I should have mentioned I have the 3.15s...
I hope to dyno it, add an intake, and dyno again. I'm just not sure if it's worth the cost, since the intake will only be around $250.

You should make sure you drive your car pretty hard at least 50 miles after installing the intake before you dyno again. Computer needs to relearn the added air flow.
We did ours with Breathless Performance at the Birthday Bash. Used 3rd gear to rev. limiter, about 150 mph with the 3.15 axle ratio. The operator will tell you how he wants to run the tests.
If I remember correctly, I did 2nd once (by mistake) and the hp came out much lower. Next run, operator told me to keep it down till it shifts to 3rd and then go to redline. So 3rd is the proper gear.
