Getting frustrated with trying to search and nothing appears to be working. It doesn't seem to be my ISP, but a problem with the CF search function.
Regardless, what did everyone use to get the coupler between the Clutch Master Cylinder and the Clutch Slave? I can't believe people can get screw drivers in there to press this connection without damaging the connection (besides being unable to get into this area with my sausage fingers...
Well after wasting 3 hours of my life trying to get it apart first with screwdrivers then with the correct tool i realized that i was replacing the slave and master so i whipped out the side cutters lol
After i got the lines out i could see there was alot of buildup in the fitting and wouldnt let you push them together to release.. maybe spay some brake cleaner into the fitting to clean it out a bit
I can't even manage to get my screwdrivers positioned properly, let alone get the pieces to move much at all. Since I'm not replacing the master cylinder, I'll need to get the joint apart.
Anyone know where one can buy/rent/etc the proper tool? I'm not looking for an online thing this time, I'd like to find it locally so I can keep tackling this tomorrow.
I would try cleaning the fitting out, couldn't get it even with the right tool, It was packed tight with grime and wouldn't release
Do you know if the white pieces of the connection need to go 'inside' the brass fitting a ways or do they simply have to be pushed flushed with said brass fitting?

While true, I'm simply trying to get an idea of what needs to be done

Use a 15mm open wrench and press in the white plastic piece. Mine was a biotch because it was full of dirt. Might try spraying some CRC or something in there to lossen up the dirt.
Napa has a universal brake/clutch line disconnect tool for like $8. It's basically a plate about 1/16" thick with a U shape cut out of one end. Just insert the plate between the metal ridge and the white plastic insert and pry a little. I tried for a few minutes with the screw drivers but after getting the tool I wouldn't do it any other way. Very fast and easy.
I use a pair of long needle nose pliers (18" long), I reach up with the jaws open and push the white sleeve back then I shift the pliers and push the sleeve back again from another angle, and it's done.
