Got Castrol Syntec today, because it was all that was available at the shop next door to my work. Could they have broke the sending unit?
Or could the non-spec brand of oil cause a misread?
Anybody else see this 80PSI analog and 130 on the DIC?
Your sending unit has failed. Strange mine failed just after I changed the oil as well. There is a short cut fix on here to replace it. I did not want to cut into my cowl so I just yanked the intake and replaced it. Only took a couple hours.
are you saying that the oil pressure sending unit is under the intake? If not where is it?
I believe that that item is located rear of the intake, forward of the firewall. I may be mistaken, but I think that you will have to remove the intake, and it should be at that location, somewhere around the middle area of where the rear of the intake would be. I think thats where it is, but I may be wrong.
Read the sticky "Oil Pressure sender relocate."
The sender is behind the intake manifold.
The sticky has all the sorry details.
Pull the manifold...you will sleep better.
If you do pull the manifold, I would replace the AIR valve while you are back there. As sure a heck that thing will carbon up soon after you button things up. I wish I had done that...I'm getting intermitant 1416 codes now. Got to go back in!
