Headlight Gear?
For a while now when I turn my lights off my right side headlight makes a LOUD clicking noise for 6 seconds then it goes away is it the headlight gear needing replacement because it still goes up and down fine otherwise.
Also, some members say you can pull out the offending gear and put it back 180 degrees from where it was at to prolong it's life. It may be a less expensive way to go but I have not done this.
pop-up the lights and then unplug the connector on the bad side
turn off the lights
remove the black headlight surround from the light
reach in and take the 10mm nut off the motor where the actuator arm is attached
pull off the arm
turn the **** on the motor until the output shaft rotates 180 degrees
put the arm back on the motor and put everything else back together
If you do the above and it begins to work then the gear is going bad. You can get "HELP!" branded plastic gears as number 42400 from most decent parts stores.
