Default guage display question

I'm wondering if anyone out there could tell me what the appearance of their analog guages (primarily mph and rpm) look like at night. Mine are brighter on one side than on the other (both rpm and mph) although they are all illuminated at night. It just looks funny to me and am wondering if anyone else is or has experienced this problem and what I might need to do to correct it. This is on an 01 C5. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My '98 has a slight shift in illumination with the tach, I keep the brightness way down so that could be why.

Sounds like one of the side black lights has gone out!
Is should be covered under warranty. It's about $1495.00 for a new gage cluster. Not counting labor.
I had mine changed out under GMPP :) Everything works fine now.
Tim

I have that same problem since I bought it new, it's an 01 coupe. There were some previous threads about this, saying it is normal. Don't know if that is true, but I never brought it to a dealer to check. If you do bring it to a dealer, give us an update. Good luck.

I appreciate everyones response to my problem and will report back on this. I have contacted the dealer and from what they say they just send off the guage cluster to have it repaired by someone in CA. They say about a three day process. Yeah right!!! Oh well, any other comments about this are still appreciated. I guess I will take the car in Monday.

I noticed the same thing on my 01 coupe the other night. The display is dimmer in the center of the tach/speedo circle then on the outsides. It is only a slight variation but still, is it normal?
