Low oil please help!

Default Low oil please help!

i just changed the bottom part of my oil pan due to a rock cracking a hole in the original. the swap went smoothly not a big deal at all i put in five and half quarts and it still says LOW OIL on my dic and i dont know why i keep checking the dip stick and though its hard to clearly see the line due to it being so clear it looks like its right on or a little past so i dont get it??????????

6 1/2 quarts is a full fill. So, if you only put in 5 1/2 you are 1 quart low, you should get a warning. If you fill it up and are between the marks on the dipstick, I'd check the sensor at the back of the pan. Make sure you connected it back up properly.

You put 5.5 quarts in and it holds 6.5 - 7 quarts.

If you only put in 5 1/2 quarts I would expect that you are indeed low. Mine takes 6 1/2 quarts with a filter change and that tiny filter doesn't hold more than a 1/2 quart. So if you didn't change the filter you need about another 1/2 quart minimum. If you changed the filter then you need another quart minimum.

woa thanks guys i thought i read somewhere that it was 5.5 thanks so much and yes i did change the filter so i probably need a quart to quart and half ill get on that asap again thanks
