Default Corsa Touring vs. Z06 Titanium

I am looking at setting up a different exhaust on my '01 coupe A4. Which of these systems would offer the most aggressive sound. I've limited my search to these two (Corsa Touring and Z06 Titanium) because I don't want to get too aggressive. Is there another part to this puzzle that I should take into consideration? Your thoughts please.

Listen to another set up like yours, particularly with respect to precats. Include some cockpit time at cruise if you can ;) Other than sound, differences to consider would be both weight and cost. Of the two, I (a happy Corsa Indy owner) would be happier with the Z06.

I have the Z06 exhaust on my Coupe w/ Pre-Cats.

I would say it is 30% more agressive than stock at WOT. I hear little burbles/pops at light throttle. It has a better tone at idle. I like it!!

The tips also look tougher.

The Corsa's are awesome, but I didn't want that much attention. Shoot me an email if you are up in Dallas. You are welcome to come and inspect.

I debated the Corsa Indy vs Z06 exhaust for my 2001 for a long time. I ended up with the Corsa Indy. I am happy with the decision. It is loud at WOT and it will get some attention. Overall I am thrilled with it. I also do not have an Xpipe so it does gurgle on decel. I like the sound, my girlfriend thinks something is wrong with the car. If I had gotten the Z06 I probably would have been happy with that as well though. I love both tips.

I don't think the tourings are worth the upgrade over stock from what I have heard.

Hope this helps in some way,

I have the Z06 Exhaust on my 2000 and can tell you that the tone is only slightly better than a stock exhaust. Little more tone but like Closer said it's probably only about 20-30% better. The Corsa is most likely going to provide a more solid exhaust sound. Having said that the cost of the Z06 exhaust is going to be less. Pretty sure you can find one for less than $800 slightly used. In addition and the real reason I went with it was the weight. The Z06 exhaust weight is I'm guessing probably in the 20lbs savings range. It's hard to imagine how light the titanium exhaust is intil you actually pick it up...

Not sure if that helps your decision but if exhaust tone is your primary goal I would go with the Corsa. If you are looking at a balance of factors go with the Z06 exhaust. Just my .02.

I have the Touring on a Y2K coupe. There IS a difference from stock at idle; there is a BIG difference from stock at WOT. At idle, it is only slightly deeper, but this is all I wanted for now. I heard that on the 2001's the aftermarket catbacks will sound slightly quieter because of the precats - you may want to take this into consideration. I also would guess that a Z06 system would sound differently on a coupe/convertible than on the Z06 - different engines (somwething else to think about). My Donaldson also made the exhaust note change.

ToplessTexan, I thought this was a discussion on exhaust. Do you really feel it necessary to distract everyone with the hot POA pic in your sig? One glance and I forget this is a C5 tech forum. :-)
