Default remote CD changer

Does anyone know if a 2001 coupe came with a factory wiring harness for a remote CD changer, do you need to add one?

No, it does not come with the needed harness that runs from the pass side footwell to the rear compartment. They are available, though.

on a 2001, there should be 2 plugs behind the carpet in the passenger footwell. The GM harness connects to these, and runs to the back of the car to connect to the changer box. I added one to my 02. Check out this thread for more info:

I got my Changer, wire harness, and mounting brackets from Fichtner Chevy, a Forum vendor.
