Body Side Molding

I know this question has been asked before, but a friend of mine just got a C5 with BSM and wants to take it off.
1. How do you go about removing the BSM?
2. Is there any problems that I should warn him about before he does this?
3. Is there any noticeable marks, or residue left on the paint afterwards. I mean can you tell that the car every had the BSM on after you take it off?
Thanks
Work slowly and gently. After you get the BSM off, don't work on one area to long it will mar the paint. (work a little here then move to another spot, just keep working it) It's a long process and takes allot of elbow grease and skin. Your finger tips will be very sore. It's easier to take it to a body shop and let them take the risk. But if you want to do it, put a day aside when it's warm out and take your time.
Best of luck to you.
