A 99 stock intake system, and a 02 stock intake system? Intake meaning the air intake, not the actual intake manifold. In some of the catalogs I've gotten in over the last couple of days, they show Air intake Duct for the 97-00 and another for the 01-04. Whats the differences? Also, on the cover, it shows three different covers. One for the 97-00, one for the 01-03, and one for the 02-04 Z06. The 01-03 Says small air intake hole. So what are the differences in the intakes?

The difference is in the top half of the airbox.

The early airboxes, 97-00 were very restrictive. There are just 2 holes on each end about the size of a quarter for air to get in.

The 01-04 have a small, ~3" scoop in the top, facing forward and the ends are more open.

The Z06 air box is the same as the 01-04 except that the scoop in the top is about 6" wide.

They will all interchange with one another. I thought I had some pictures of them, but I can't find them right now.

Don't waste your money "upgrading" to a factory intake of a later year. Search in the C5 parts for sale section and pick up something like a Halltech Stinger. Very easy for a novice to install, and will outperform any factory system.

Well, the car I bought has a Volant dual filter intake on it. But I noticed three different air intakes and was curious what the differences were. I bought an Stock 02, just in case I did some mods and had to have some parts to fix anything I may screw up.
