I installed a racetronic fuel pump over a years ago. Just recently, it began to make more noise than usual. It's hard to describe the sound, but it sounds like fuel "spraying/flowing" under high pressure
I can only hear it at idle from inside the car.Do any of you that are running this pump hear a simular sound. Is this normal or am i about to have fuel pump issues?
Generally, if the pump is making more noise than usual, then it's working harder to provide fuel. Many reasons (clogged filter, dirty in tank filter, wearing out), but it's safe to assume it will die in the near future. When? Can't say, but it's on it's way out.
That's disappointing to hear to say the least. It's a high performance (read; expensive) racetronic's pump that i installed just over a year ago. And since my Vette's a "weekend car" it probably has no more than 3000-4000 miles on it.
The funny thing is, I installed it 1. To supply my modded motor AND N2O system, and 2. Because the original pump was several years old, and I wanted to install a new one so I would not have to worry about the fuel pump going out
So much for aftermarket product's dependability
