I have a bit of a mysterious problem. During normal running around/short trips everything is fine. But after a longer trip (maybe 2 hours plus on the move) I get a low-frequency groan/rumble from the front wheels when making tight turns, like a u-turn or turn into a parking lot or parking space.
The power steering feels fine, doesn't make noise, and the level is fine. (the fluid is more than 2 years old, though).
The car doesn't make the usual bearing-failing noises.
Front brakes have about 16K on the rotors and pads. I do do mostly stop-and-go driving with this car.

Anyone have any ideas?
Are you up against the locks if so you are probably hearing the the locks rubbing as the suspension moves up and down.
If it was me, I think I would first look at the tires for cupping... past that, the bearings.
Thanks. The tires are only about 4K old, so I doubt that's the problem. But I'll look. They ARE Firestone Wide Ovals, 226/40/17s (slightly larger than stock coupe sizes) on C5Z rims... maybe when they get hot they expand enough to rub something? I'll have to look into that.

No, I'm hearing it at less then full lock. But rubbing does seem like a possibility. I'm going to get it up in the air this weekend and see if I can see anything obvious. Thanks for the tip.
