Default c6 brake calipers

Question,

Are the C6 calipers (Z51 and non-Z51) slightly larger than C5 calipers?

Are the rotors larger?

If so, are larger diameter wheels needed or will they fit on 17 and 18 inch factory wheels?

Wondering if the rotors and calipers will fit my '99 with Magnesium wheels?

Thanks, RWP

Calipers are the same just different font on the writing

Rotors are larger and use different caliper brackets as well.

Some have fit factory 17s over c6 z51 front by grinding the fins on the back of the caliper. I will tell you the barrel of a mag wheel is slightly smaller than the thin spokes. If you want to keep the mags by another set of rear and put them on the front with a set of 275/35s. This is exactly what I have done and it looks/works great!

Thanks so much for your reply and by the way your car looks great!

Sounds like a good alternative to the '06 Z06 calipers at least with a little larger rotor and new clipers.

Do you know what the diameter difference is between stock C5 and the Z51?

Thanks Again,

RWP

Stock C6 rotors are 1" larger than C5's.
To do the swap, all you need is a different caliper bracket and the rotors themselves. Calipers can be reused from your C5.....no difference.

As mentioned before, there will be some clearance issues.
