Clearing codes bad?

Clearing codes bad?
So i just got another check engine light and checked my code history. Is it a bad thing to clear the code history? I am asking because i was wondering if i clear the codes, if it will leave the one that is currently being thrown? Or is the code that is causing the check engine light not even being displayed?

keep track of it and if it keeps throwing the same code,there is obviously a problem.

Haha, I clear codes all the time related to modifications. If they are pertinent, they will come back. I am down to one which occurs periodically so I'm happy about that. Car runs awesome so I'll address that late winter.
