We do not have any shop building roll cages for corvettes around here so I hope some one on the forum can answer my question.
I have a DRM roll over bar installed by DRM. This is a heavy duty roll bar that looks like a half of a real roll cage and it's welded to the frame. Now I plan to extend this roll bar to be a full roll cage and my question is where you weld the front end of the roll cage to the frame. Is it close to the door pillar or is it a bit into the foot well ? Any special precautions to concider ?

Re: Roll cage weld points to chassis ? (seanr)
On the World Challenge cars that we built, we were allowed to gut the doors, so it was easier to weld to the frame. We have also built them with the bar welded to the side of the frame on a fabricated pedestal. Either way, on a street car, you have to be creative.
