Doea any after-market vendor sell a bushing set for the rear of the C5 that lowers the car a set amount (~1.0") without having to cut the original? Ya know, hey, so that if you do not like the result it can be returned to stock height.
As an alternate, price on replacement bushing set for rear leaf, and part # ??????????????????????
All you have to do to lower the rear is either back off the top nut until a few threads are showing or replace the bolts with longer ones. Just go to Lowes or any descent hardware store and buy longer bolts. Be sure they are Grade-8 bolts though, not just some cruddy bolds from the parts bin. When you install the longer bolts you can adjust the height to just about any level without cutting the bushings.
I agree with all of the above, but I don't think you need grade 8 bolts, the stock ones aren't grade 8 so I think grade 5 would be fine. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Gramps,
Just get the longer bolts/washers/nyloc nuts.
I have done it 3-4 times on different cars.
Probably set you back about $7.
Do not cut the rear bushings or use a thinner bushing.
The ride will be harsher.

I went to the Mall and checked under suspension products and found the kit for $36 for what appeared to be the two longer bolts for the rear. I'm sure the R&D justifies the price, I mean like what did it take, a trip to Ace?
