Default programing remotes

Ok so I know how to program my remotes. And I have them programed but anytime I use them the mirrors and seat goes to a different preset. I have the factory service manual and owners manual but can not find anywhere on how to change the presets. I have a 98 convertable. Hopefully someone out there can help.

Thanks

You tried setting everything where you want it then pressing and holding either the #1 or # 2 memory button until they flash?

The memory buttons are on the drivers door, if you have the memory option for that car.

Top of the control panel on the drivers door. If you don't have the memory buttons your car doesn't have the option.

Press and hold #1, #2 or both together to set #3.

thanks for the help. I don't have the memory buttons but my mirrors and seat moves to the same positions when I use the fob. My car has a salvage title. So I am thinking the switch might have gotten replaced with one with out memory buttons I'm gonna pull the switch and see if it has a extra conector back there.

Thanks again
Kevin

Default Memory Buttons on drivers control panel on door arm

If you have MEMORY and the WRONG control panel you might find one in the parts section here or on fleebay. I had a bad LOCK button on my panel and someone here suggested looking on fleebay. The $120 or so GM part cost me about $35 and maybe $10 shipping from a JAZZIEJUNK in Florida. Looked and worked like new and the price was right.
My 98 can have 3 remotes which correspond with MEMORY 1, 2, and 3.
You set them by setting your mirrors, radio, HVAC temp, mode and speed, and seat position then HOLDING the appropriate memory button on top of the panel down until the yellow LED flashes. Memory 3 is set by holding both buttons 1 and 2 at the same time and waiting for the LEDs to flash. On mine the order you program the remotes makes it Mem 1, 2 or 3. The first one programmed is Mem 1, Second is Mem 2 and the third is Mem 3. On 2000 and later think there are only 2 remotes 1 and 2 but I have no experience here.
Hope this helps you out.BIGHANK

You can check to see if the car came with the Memory option by checking the sticker in the glove box (assuming it's the original) for RPO AAB "Memory, Driver Convenience Package."

If it's there you can lookup the rest of the RPO codes at: http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...98/98rpos.html
