IT's FIXED!!!!
It was the notorius ignition switch bug. If GM could design and manufacture a trouble free ignition switch, maybe they wouldn't be in so much financial trouble. My thanks to all of you for the time you took in helping me troubleshoot the problem (RE: Car Won't Start!! Expertise Needed!). This Forum is the best! And Bill Curlee can put another notch on his steering wheel (what does that make now, 8 ignition switches he's identified thru the forum?). Bill was so sure that the ignition switch was the problem, I felt confident that I had reached the end of my search.
My next headache will be the clutch. I can feel it when I shift. I hope it will wait until after the first of the year. As a novice mechanic, is it recommended that I have a real mechanic replace the clutch?
